Aims/ Objective/ Goals of project
The aim of this program is to educate and inform the societies in understanding and knowing how the heroes struggle and to respect what they have done for keeping our beloved nationalism. Knowing the history means that we have keep our cultures and our nation historical. This program is very important to remind Acehnese history because of changing era, earthquake and Tsunami disaster on last December 26, 2004 that make some Acehnese history become lost. Especially for young generation this book is very easy to be understood because of its simple language and interesting illustrated without less the historical meaning, it is hoped that after reading this book they can retell the story to the others. The messages and the actors in this book are heroes where they have a high nationalism in it. Through this program, it is expected to create public participation to support the process of rebuild Aceh up well distributed so it can decrease the obstacles such as infrastructure, education, cultures and peace process because of conflict in order to create wealthy for all societies as national purposes.
Brief Description of Project
The historical actor maybe had been forgotten, there are some of them that are very respected and become as nationalism symbol at that time. They are Cut Nyak Dhien, Teuku Umar, Panglima Polem, Tengku Cik ditiro, Panglima Laksamana Malahayati, Sultan Iskandar Muda, T. Nyak Arief etc. In this program, we would like to inform the societies about history through illustrated pictures and comics. Based on national and international survey it can be easy to remember because it is used simple language and pictures, which can express their characters.
Methodology/Implementation of Project
Printing and distributing which contain of folklore which exist in the legend of Acehnese cultures.
Time Frame of Project
The arrangement of these books are planned start at March – September 2008, by target 3 priorities target editions. It is formed based on heroism such as: Teuku Umar, Panglima Polem, Cut Nyak Dhien, Panglima Laksamana Malahayati based on funders agreement.
Projected Output of project (Is it a workshop, a discussion, a showing etc?)
Support the role of mass media in educating the society of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam in making the culture still exist, and renew the history that had been forgotten by young generation because of natural disaster and the era development through this comics program.
Who is your target audience for your project?
The target of this program is all societies level because the contain of this story described of historical actor in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam where in order to have the societies can understand and keep high nationalism, and as a way to imitate the hero’s way in reaching freedom. The children can easy to have future positive thinking through interesting pictures.
How do you propose to disseminate information about the project to your target audience?
Through mass media and interesting pictures illustrated.
How do you think your project will create impact on the cultures that you want to engage with? How will it develop the field of your art from?
It is clear that this program is to make the historical cultures that had ever been had by our grand-grand parents started from Sultan Iskandar Muda era existed. Cultures for Acehnese society is the very important thing in daily life, because it can be a “guidance book” in arranging society life. The fact shows that, there are some cultures value/norms had been forgotten because of that it is a time to rebuild up it through illustrating pictures that can develop their imaginations and creativity to have positive thinking in the future.
